The Guild of Photographers awards 2022

In February, The Guild of Photographers (TGOP) holds its annual Awards Ceremony, a significant event for its members. This year's ceremony took place at the Doubletree Hilton in Stoke-on-Trent, an elegant affair. The ceremony recognizes various achievements, including 'Image of the Year', 'Photographer of the Year', and attaining the prestigious 'Photographers Bar' in a specific category. Winning any award is a significant accomplishment for photographers.

I am thrilled to share that I had a successful year and received several mentions during the Awards Ceremony. My primary goal for 2022 is to attain the Photographers Bar in the Natural World Category. The Guild defines the Photographers Bar as a distinguished achievement that acknowledges consistent excellence in photography. Members must submit a portfolio of four images, each scoring a minimum of 70 points in the Guild's evaluation process, to attain the Photographers Bar in a specific category. Once a member has achieved this honor in one category, they can work towards achieving it in other categories.

I was also delighted to find out that I had achieved ‘International Top 10 Photographer Of The Year’ in the birds category, and was really pleased to see my image printed in the book that the Guild make for the awards to display all the finalists.

Good motivation for the year ahead!
